Abstract. Europe is changing and Romania is forced to follow its trend in the energy industry and carbon emissions. The Romanian energy reality is disastrous due to the lack of investments, the lack of political will and the lack of good intentions. The crisis has generated a European will for change through a huge infusion of investment. And Romania benefits from a large amount of funds, which must first be invested in the energy industry. This will probably be the last chance for economic recovery and this cannot be done without a strong energy industry.
