Abstract. The space between Black and Caspian seas brings together political and cultural spaces, large markets at the contact zone between Europe and Asia in the immediate vicinity of the Major Routes, linking the two poles of Eurasia (WEST – EAST). This position focused the interests of the greatest players of the Eurasian power games since the early Antiquity till nowadays, rising continuous challenges for the nations and states of the region. Constants in their history are resistance, the fostering of their own particularity and their strive to involve in the regional power equation major actors from outside the close vicinity.
