Abstract. Escaladarea procesului de globalizare, caracterizat de dezvoltare tehnologică şi informaţională fără precedent, în toate domeniile şi sectoarele societăţii, a creat, în ultimele decade, un mediu favorabil pentru emergenţa noilor ameninţări la adresa securităţii unui stat. Astfel, zona securităţii cibernetice a început să dobândească noi dimensiuni întrucât vulnerabilităţile şi oportunităţile au subliniat că pot fi exploatate pentru a răni considerabil o entitate. Deşi istoria a demonstrat că dezvoltarea statului a fost influenţată puternic de evenimente care au avut un impact major asupra mediului de securitate (precum cele două războaie mondiale), opinia publică este cp 9/11 a fost momentul care a marcat începutul unei noi epoci în domeniul securităţii, schimbând radical şi irevocabil percepţia tradiţională a ameninţărilor. Acest articol ţinteşte să analizeze noul spaţiu de confruntare care a apărut – spaţiul cibernetic şi să sublinieze, de exemplu, de ce acest spaţiu poate deveni o ameninţare la adresa securităţii unui stat / entitate (persoană, grup, instituţie publică, organizaţie, etc.), şi cum poate fi dezvoltat un atac cibernetic. Pentru acestea, am ales să prezint operaţiunea cibernetică „Flame”.

Abstract. The escalation of the globalization process, characterized by unprecedented technological and informational development, across all domains and sectors of the society has created, over the past decades, a favorable environment for the emergence of new threats to the security of a state. Thus, cyber security area began to acquire new dimensions as both the vulnerabilities and opportunities emphasized that they can be exploited in order to considerably harm an entity. Although history has proved that the development of the state was strongly influenced by events that had a major impact on the security environment (such as the two World Wars), the public opinion is that 9/11 was the moment that marked the beginning of a new era in the security field, changing radically and irrevocably the traditional perception of threats. This article aims to analyze the new confrontation space that has emerged – cyberspace, and to highlight, by example, why this space can become a threat to the security of a state / entity (person, group, public institution, organization, etc.), and how a cyber attack can be developed. To do this, I have chosen to present the cyber operation known as Flame.
