Much feared Europe dependent on Russian gas is not as overwhelming as it sounds, but it is a real threat, because some countries depend 100% or high proportions of gas imports from Russia. Russian imports to the EU average, however, was only 24% in 2012, according to The Economist. In 2013, they increased to 39%, according to the European Commission.
