China and Africa: the political and economic relations. The political interest of China to Africa came first the economic one. The first expressions of interest in fact began when Zhou en Lai exploited the basis of Indian neutralism posed by Jawaharlal Nehru with his Panja Sīla (Five points) during the Bandung conference. Since 1955 onwards, Chinese attitude towards Africa dramatically changed. Today Beijing pursues an aggressive and multifaceted policy towards Africa. The Chinese pragmatism and rules of the global markets fostered this policy of power, which is spread over different lines: economic, diplomatic, military, scientific, technical, socio-cultural, healthcare and media. However, the principal axes are related to three distinct, but interrelated dimensions: the economic, the diplomatic and the military dimension.
