Last week, I had the honor of meeting with Romania’s Minister of Internal Affairs and now Prime Minister, Cătălin Predoiu, to discuss the rebuilding of Ukraine, security, support for American companies, and the upcoming International Stability Operations Association (ISOA) event in Bucharest. The week prior, I met with Sorin Grindeanu, Romania’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, to explore how our expertise can support Romania’s infrastructure goals. These engaging discussions highlighted Romania’s strong pro-business and pro-USA stance, positioning the country as a key ally for American firms like Turnbull Services.
A Strategic Dialogue with Prime Minister Cătălin Predoiu
Our meeting with Cătălin Predoiu, who recently assumed the role of Prime Minister after serving as Minister of Internal Affairs, underscored Romania’s commitment to international collaboration. Predoiu, a seasoned politician and lawyer, has held multiple cabinet positions, including Minister of Justice (2008–2012, 2017–2019, 2019–2020) and Minister of Internal Affairs (2023–2025). Known for his efforts to strengthen Romania’s judicial system and enhance national security, Predoiu brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Prime Minister. His pro-Western outlook aligns with Romania’s strategic priorities as a NATO and EU member.
During our discussion, Prime Minister Predoiu expressed strong support for American businesses and their role in Romania’s economic growth. He emphasized Romania’s strategic position as a NATO ally bordering Ukraine, making it a critical hub for supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction. Predoiu also voiced enthusiasm for the upcoming ISOA event in Bucharest, recognizing its potential to foster global partnerships in stability operations. The week prior, I met with Sorin Grindeanu, Romania’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, to discuss how Turnbull Services can contribute to Romania’s infrastructure ambitions. Grindeanu, a prominent figure in Romanian politics, served as Prime Minister from December 2016 to June 2017 and has been Minister of Transport since November 2021. His leadership focuses on modernizing Romania’s transportation networks, including highways, railways, and ports, to enhance connectivity across Europe.
