Summary. The Middle East has not always been what it is now. Its history is very old, extremely nuanced and with complicated connections that begin to be resurrected not to survive, but to be again what they once were. Even if the Middle East, which includes what we now call the Middle East, is in an interminable and complicated endogenous crisis, induced and maintained by huge geopolitical interests, attempts to rebuild, on the models of the past, the glory era, retains not only the aura of its ancestors and the coat of arms of the Caliphate, the fantasies of a glorious new beginning, but also a kind of ancestral dignity of a civilization that took Constantinople and thus changed the course of history. That’s how it was once. But today, almost a millennium since then?
