Abstract. The Middle East is a real field of political, military, diplomatic and economic operations. Although it is one of the most important supranational constructions, EU actions in the Middle East does not demonstrate coherent and effective strategies, playing a marginal role, preferring to leave the political, military initiative of the United States, Russia or Turkey. Undoubtedly, the EU could play a more proactive and meaningful role in the Middle East, but the lack of strategic vision is the main problem. The EU’s proximity to the Middle East is forcing Brussels to step out of isolation and become an active partner in combating the risk of terrorism, uncontrolled migration and providing valid economic solutions to alleviate the problems in the area.
