Abstract. The article is devoted to forms and methods of hybrid war conducting by Russia in southeast of Ukraine. It showed that Donbas-Lugansk separatists with the help of Russia achieved significant results in their struggle against Kiev authorities. The application of Russian Battalion Tactical Group (BTG) in the war in southeast of Ukraine is discussed. Comparisons with American Brigade Fighting Group (BFG) are made. It pointed out that Russian Battalion Tactical Groups possess greater compatibility to operate on battlefield in comparison with their American opponent. The article also considers the American Third Offset Strategy where emphasizes the role of combat robotic systems.
