Abstract. The research paper presents the new dimension of US – Russia relations following the Helsinki Summit. The interests of the two great powers seem to be negotiated on a new form of openness to Russia by President Trump. Thus, the analysis attempted to capture regional implications, new agenda elements that influence the security climate in the Black Sea, the Middle East and the global level. The analysis focuses on future cooperation formats and issues left behind by the NATO Summit in Brussels that need to be reinforced in the Wider Black Sea Area to secure the Alliance’s Eastern Flank.
