Abstract. Elements of Political Geography, Geopolitics and Geohistory. This article makes a contribution to delimiting Indochina by geographical, cultural and geopolitical criteria with highlight on regional particularities, and especially on French Indochina, as a unitary geopolitical whole spanning the years 1887 to 1954. At the same time, the evolution of the states that emerged after that interval – Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam – is also being discussed.
