Abstract: Lately, a recurring theme in Romanian public space is the corruption problem, in all its forms of expression. From the bad roads to the medical act, corruption is the main culprit in the public discourse. The national security field was not spared from this pernicious influence. Recent research on public perception about the risks and threats to national security place corruption among the most important problems of Romanian society, which constitute threats to national security. Starting from these premises, in the present study we aim to realize an analysis of how corruption is reflected when addressing issues relating to national security in major news sites in Romania. The research is limited to the analysis of the information about the perception of corruption in 2015 Romania. Starting from results based on quantitative data collection, our approach aims to be mainly a qualitative one, being of most importance for us, at this stage of research, to identify the main narratives in the media, related to this issue.
