Abstract. Serhiy Dzherdzh analyzes the Russian propaganda’s influence in Ukraine. This article assesses the anti-Ukrainian rhetoric of Russian propaganda against Ukrainian Euroatlantic security model; the disinformation defined as a basic of the information war against Ukraine; the Russian media create fictional news about Ukraine via manipulation, simulation and actors. There is necessity of finding alternatives to counter the information war, activity of the psychological operations units; and forming the overall communication strategy and use efficiently Ukrainian and International response to the Russian hybrid war.
By analysing what is at play, by looking at research on information warfare, it is possible to see that what is going on in Ukraine fits with the definition of information warfare.
