This article discusses the relations between Romania and Latvia during the interwar period as an example of small and mid-sized states’ behavior in the geopolitical environment of the third and fourth decades of the 20th century. The article is not, however, focused on the Romanian and Latvian perspectives on world affairs, but privileges the developments of their bilateral relations that are framed in the landscape of opportunities and challenges they faced at a time when geopolitics were acknowledging a blossoming under the influence of Germany, Italy etc, eventually leading to the impugnment of the European existing order based on the 1919-1923 peace treaties and the League of Nations.

Sub greutatea geopoliticii: Relațiile României cu Letonia în perioada interbelică

Acest articol discută despre relațiile dintre România și Letonia în perioada interbelică ca un exemplu al comportamentului statelor mici și mijlocii în mediul geopolitic în al treilea și al patrulea deceniu al secolului al XX-lea. Acest articol nu este, cu toate acestea, concentrat asupra perspectivelor din România și Letonia cu privire la afacerile mondiale, dar privilegiile dezvoltării relațiilor lor bilaterale, care sunt încadrate în peisajul de oportunități și provocări cu care se confruntă într-un moment în care geopolitica a cunoscut o înflorire sub influența din Germania, Italia, etc, în cele din urmă conducând la atacare a ordinii existente europene bazate pe tratatele de pace 1919-1923 și a Ligii Națiunilor.
