Global maritime sectors are heading towards a new frontier. Throughout maritime history, innovation has arrived from the outside, such as aerospace navigation systems, heavy industry engines, and manufacturing automation and digitalization from Silicon Valley. Another external wave could be hitting the sector soon, called humanoid robotics. Still, when specifically looking at shipping and shipbuilding, it could be shaping up as something different. Humanoid robotics as a technology must be maritimised from the start, or it will fail.
