Between July 11 and July 17, 2025, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq experienced a focused and technically sophisticated wave of drone attacks. A total of 14 confirmed incidents involving 16 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) unfolded across key economic and strategic zones—particularly in Erbil and Duhok governorates. Drawing on a synthesis of open-source reporting and a classified incident dataset, this article provides an analytical interpretation of the tactics, operational environment, and broader implications.
