On the occasion of the Week of Francophonie in Azerbaijan, the opening of the photography exhibition of the works of famous Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncusi was held in Baku on April 3.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Romania in Baku, in cooperation with Institut Français Azerbaïdjan.
Romania’s Ambassador in Baku Dan Ianku spoke about sculptor’s life and achievements. Dan Iancu said the photo exhibition showcased sculptures and artistic creations that are famous all over the world. His main art samples are devoted to the revolutions of XX century. Considered a pioneer of modernism, one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th-century, Brâncuşi is called the patriarch of modern sculpture and abstract genre. He was a Romanian sculptor, painter and photographer who made his career in France. This is the first time that the works of Constantin Brancusi are shown in a photo exhibition in Azerbaijan.
The exhibition will be on display between April 3-9. About 30 works will be displayed at the exhibition.
