Mater Health has announced that its IT systems have been targeted by cyber criminals.
The company runs a network of private hospitals across Queensland, holding the confidential health records of thousands of Queenslanders. However, the company has confirmed that it “successfully stopped” the attack.
“Mater’s cyber security system recently detected and successfully stopped access to its IT network,” said a Mater spokesperson.
“There is no evidence that any personal information, medical information, or any other sensitive information has been compromised.
“We are remaining vigilant and have implemented additional security measures, including requesting staff to change their passwords.”
