Dutch court rules “Scythian Gold” must be returned to Ukraine, not occupied Crimea
On 26 October, the Amsterdam Court of Appeals announced its decision that the collection of the so-called “Scythian gold” belongs to Ukraine and should be returned to the Ukrainian state. The collection, which was assembled mostly from Crimean museums, was on exhibit in a Dutch museum when Russia occupied Crimea in 2014. The decision in favor of Ukraine, which follows a seven-year court quagmire, in which both Ukraine and Russia claimed the historical exhibits.
